Jaguar Land Rover honour top local dealers at award ceremony
South Africa’s Jaguar Land Rover dealers were honoured at the annual Dealer of the Year Awards, held in Sandton last week.
The individuals and businesses that have delivered world-class service to Jaguar Land Rover customers, over the last year, were given true recognition for their efforts, across a number of categories. The grand prize – the Dealer of the Year award – recognises the combined overall performance across all departments at the winning retailer. In addition to recognising sales performance, scorecards also included factors that directly impact the customer experience – including process adherence, progress through training programmes, results of standards audits and feedback from customers.

“It’s a privilege to acknowledge the achievements of the dedicated people at our retailers. They are the ultimate Jaguar and Land Rover ambassadors,” said Richard Gouverneur, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa.
“Despite challenging market conditions these dealers have continually gone above and beyond to maintain outstanding customer satisfaction levels.”
While Jaguar Land Rover dealers represent both brands, a Dealer of the Year award is given to the dealership who has the best across-the-board performance for each brand. Clinching these prestigious awards were Jaguar Stellenbosch, which was awarded Jaguar Dealer of the Year, and Land Rover Sandton, which was named Land Rover Dealer of the Year. Both retailers achieved the highest combined scores in all areas of evaluation. In terms of outright sales, the top-performing dealerships for 2016/17 were Jaguar Bryanston and Land Rover Sandton. Each won the Top Sales award for their performances over the last 12 months.
Jaguar Land Rover’s Customer First philosophy remains the brand’s core tenet, and Jaguar Land Rover Ballito proved to be the retailer that best embraced this – earning it the Customer Service award, for maintaining excellent standards in service processes and technical performance.
This year a new Marketing Award was presented to the retailer who showed the highest year-on-year growth for showroom visitors and online interactions. Scoring was also based on the conceptualization of strategies, execution of successful sales campaigns and experiential sales drives involving the public. This year’s winner of the Marketing Award is Jaguar Land Rover Polokwane.

“I think congratulations are well deserved all around. The staff in our retail business have managed the task of always putting customers first as well as growing their businesses with an expanding product line-up,” said Gouverneur.
“The Jaguar F-PACE continues to be a success among critics and customers. We’re not standing still, though. This year we will introduce the All-New Land Rover Discovery, the New Jaguar F-TYPE with a 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine, as well as the much-anticipated Range Rover Velar – these products we believe will thrill new and existing customers.”
