Since then the number of unforced car entries by thieves has increased in South Africa and many of us have fallen victim to the scam.
Hyundai has created a device that warns the car owner when thieves are attempting to jam your remote locking system.
The Sanji XA Jam alert detects a signal from a car lock jammer’s device and gives four pulses from the 110 decibel siren to alert the car owner.
The device gets fitted in the engine compartment of your Hyundai without any complicated intrusion into the wiring harness of your car. Power is drawn from your car’s battery and again will not affect the warranty of your car.
The device is waterproof and carries a warranty of 3 years or 100 000km depending on which expires first.
The price of the ZX Jam Alert is R896.61 (including VAT and fitment) and can be fitted at the time of the vehicle’s purchase or even after at any Hyundai Automotive dealership. It takes an estimated time of 45 minutes to install.
