N2 stone throwing and how to avoid it!
It cannot be emphasised enough – if you are driving along the N2 be very careful and be especially aware of anything left in the road! Especially when driving late at night, this is when these incidents of N2 crime are most likely to occur!
If it all possible do not get out of the vehicle under these circumstances! Rather keep driving and stay on the road, it’s the best way to avoid being another victim of N2 crime!
N2 stone throwing incident in broad daylight!
I know that for some it may be unavoidable, but of course driving late at night should be avoided whenever possible! Especially on the N2! It seems these criminals target individuals who are tired and not fully alert and aware of the surroundings. As well the darkness making it difficult to spot these objects placed in the road!
I’ve also heard of stories where eggs are thrown at your moving vehicle. Which may not sound too bad, but if it hits your windscreen it can potentially be more dangerous than a rock. When it hits your windscreen your immediate reaction will be to turn on your windscreen wipers to get it off. This just makes it worse, until you have almost no visibility. When you pull-over, that’s when they rob you!
