The new Opel Astra is a quantum leap for its class!
The new Opel Astra premieres at the IAA in Frankfurt from September 17-27. The model is described as a quantum leap for the compact class – in terms of efficiency, connectivity and premium features. All packed in a new, athletic design.
“The Astra leads Opel into a new era. Two years ago in Frankfurt, we presented the visionary Monza Concept study that combines pure efficiency with comprehensive, one-of-a-kind connectivity. Now we present our brand-new Astra generation, which already realizes many of the study’s trailblazing features. The new Astra is more efficient, lighter and more comfortable than ever before,”
says Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann.

The Opel Astra features a member of the completely new engine portfolio, with outputs ranging from 70 kW to 147 kW. The petrol engine with a displacement of up to 1.6 litres combines the highest efficiency with superb responsiveness.
The new 1.4 ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine makes its premiere in the Astra. This weight saving aluminum design puts out between 92 – 110 kW and up to 245 Nm of maximum torque.
