Land Rover revealed as vehicle partner for Rugby World Cup!
With the Rugby World Cup just around the corner, Land Rover has been announced as the official vehicle partner for the competition – providing 450 vehicles!
On the 27 August 2015 – they delivered this 450 strong fleet of Land Rover Discovery Sports to the organisers – in their role as the Official Vehicle Partner of the Rugby World Cup 2015.
The tournament runs for 44 days, kicking off on the 18 September 2015. The vehicles are anticipated to drive a distance of around one million kilometres over the duration of the competition. This distance would be enough to drive around the world 25 times over!
To mark the handover of these vehicles and to celebrate Land Rover’s support of this event – they have created a unique installation using 450 Land Rover keys. One for every vehicle on the fleet – suspended in the shape of a rugby ball.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport is one of the world’s most capable SUVs and these premium models will be fitted with all the advanced features available. With the total of 920 players and 1100 team staff set to take part in the Rugby World Cup – Land Rover could accommodate all 2020 participants in just 289 vehicles! With each of these Discovery Sport models seating 7 individuals comfortably.
The Rugby World Cup 2015 will be watched by 2.3 million live spectators and attract a television audience of four billion in 200 countries around the globe, making it one of the biggest sporting events on the planet!
