Tiger Woods gets arrested on suspicion of DUI
Golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of drinking under the influence in Florida yesterday.
The PGA winner, however, commented that alcohol was not involved and explained that he had an unexpected reaction to his prescribed medication.
In a statement, Woods said he did not realise the medication would affect him so strongly.

“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realise the mix of medications had affected me so strongly,” the Golfer said in a statement.
He apologised to his fans, family and friends, “I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.”
Woods was booked into a local jail in Jupiter, Florida – close to his residential area. The booking sheet noted that the golfer had an unlawful blood alcohol level.

It remains unclear whether the professional golfer tested positive for drugs or alcohol.
Woods concluded his statement by thanking the police: “I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism.”
