PinkDrive receive record breaking R1000,000 donation!
PinkDrive is a charity organisation that deals primarily with the fight against breast cancer.
Their main focus is on educating women to the risks and early warning signs associated with the disease. As of 22 June 2015 they claim to have performed 7914 mammograms, 114,875 clinical breast examinations and educated 153,433 women.
Bridgestone approached them with the idea of raising awareness through the “Pink Valve Caps” campaign.
Bridgestone South Africa’s CEO, Mike Halforty, explains that Bridgestone came up with innovative idea that would not only captivate their stakeholders, but at the same time raise money for this worthy cause. “The Pink Valve Caps are a stylish add on to a vehicle and the patrons who purchased them can showcase that they have done their bit to assist this initiative,” says Halforty.
He further stresses the importance for Bridgestone to be ambassadors of change within the industry by adding, “We are proud to be associated with PinkDrive and to know that we are actively helping PinkDrive to make difference. We hoped for the best when we launched this product and we are more than satisfied with the outcome.”
These pink valve caps were sold at participating Supa Quick dealers for R50 and all the proceeds were contributed to PinkDrive. Through these contributions, R1000,000 has been raised and donated to PinkDrive, by Bridgestone!
PinkDrive’s Noelene Kotschan, CEO and Founder, was overwhelmed with this donation and expresses her deepest gratitude to Bridgestone. “Today I am at a loss for words. How does one thank a committed organisation and the public for their contribution to financially assist PinkDrive? With this donation, through us, you will directly help thousands of people in communities by raising awareness and educate them on breast cancer”
