You have no excuse for an expired driver’s licence!
It amazes me how many people I know drive with an expired driver’s licence. I know that it is a pain to renew it but come on people, it is once every five years. That is not asking much!
So why would people rather risk getting fined than merely popping to their nearest traffic department to renew their licence? I know the answer, and so do you. People don’t have the time to stand in queues all day long! But here’s the thing, you are wrong. You do have time and it doesn’t take as long as you think it does. But you need to do your part too!
The process of renewing your driver’s licence is actually pretty simple and seamless. But if you arrive unprepared then expect delays. I went to renew my licence this week and it took me all of 35 minutes. It would have been even quicker, but I wasn’t entirely prepared as I didn’t arrive with cash (I thought you could pay with a card – rookie mistake) and so had to go to the ATM down the road and then return to pay.
My point is, you only really have yourself to blame if you don’t get your licence renewed in a timely fashion. Sure there can be loads of people in front of you, but not if you go first thing in the morning. And if everyone just did what they needed to do before arriving at the department, things would go even quicker as the poor tellers wouldn’t have to explain things for the thousandth time.
I know some of you will disagree with me and tell me that you’ve had the worst experience and that you were fully prepared blah blah blah, but come on guys, overall, it is a pretty easy task and thousands of people do it every day with no hassles.
Like all admin tasks, it is never a fun thing to do. But bite the bullet, be sure you have what you need and get it done!
