City Slicker
Driver’s Seat: Wonderfully easy to park and easy on the eye too, these sassy little urbanites are well priced, economical, trendy and extremely well built. The Micra is fully imported while the Chevrolet is made in PE.
Shopping Space: The Micra’s boot holds up to 265 litre (pretty monstrous for a hatch) versus the Spark’s 170 litres. Of course, the latter is about R9 000 cheaper, which will mean that you have lots of spare loot with which to hit the designer sales…
Traffic Stopper: We love the styling of both of these hot hatches. The Chevy is definitely the chunkier of the two with a real kick-ass attitude, while the Micra is more ladylike and sophisticated.
Carbon Trail and Cost: They both tread lightly when it comes to the planet, with meagre CO2 emissions and low, low fuel consumption. The spark starts at a mere R101 900. Pricing for the Nissan Micra kicks off at R110 775. Neither vehicle comes with a service plan so we would recommend investing in one.
