New Suzuki Swift DZire launched
Suzuki Auto South Africa has added a new sedan model to its Swift hatchback range. This four-door sedan is called DZire.
National marketing manager at Suzuki Auto SA says, “Our Swift range has already established itself as a significant player in the subcompact hatchback segment, and now the DZire will extend to that success formula into the small sedan sector.”
There will be two specification levels on offer: the GA, for the budget buyers, and the GL which offers a more extensive list of standard features. Both models are powered by a 1,2-litre engine. The GA only comes with a manual gearbox whereas the GL has an automatic transmission as an option. You can expect a claimed fuel consumption of just 5,7l/100km on the manual and 6,3l/100 km on the automatic.
The GA comes standard with cloth upholstery, airconditioning, front head restraints and sun visor with a vanity mirror for the front passenger. Standard safety features include front airbags and seatbelts with pre-tensioners. It rides on 14-inch wheels.
The GL adds integrated front fog lights, electrically adjustable mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, a radio/CD, USB and Aux sockets, electric windows, keyless entry and a multifunction steering wheel.
Standard across the DZire range is a two-year/30 000 km service plan and a three-year/100 000 km warranty.
A draw card for this little guy is its 300-litre boot space and the fact that the Swift features a slightly raised clearance with high-profile tyres which allows you to cope more easily with compromised road surfaces.
Pricing for the range starts with the DZire 1,2 GA at R128 900. The Dzire 1,2 GL manual is R138 900 and the automatic costs R153 900.
