5 trendy SUVs for trendy moms
Just ahead of Mother’s Day, we’ve put together a list of five SUVs that we think fit the ‘trendy mom’ category.
While there are tonnes of popular and good-looking SUVs on the market, these are the ones we’ve spent some time with, and we think that superhero moms out there will feel (and look) as good driving them as we did…
1. Jaguar E-PACE
Anyone driving a vehicle bearing a Jaguar badge is bound to feel as trendy as the car itself. With a range of new technologies that incorporate digital connectivity throughout the E-PACE’s cabin, cleverly engineered driving qualities and sophisticated and premium styling both inside and out, Jaguar has worked hard to make sure that the latest edition to the PACE family is as appealing and even more up-to-date as its relatives. Mom’s will enjoy its interior space and comfort, which is surprisingly spacious inside, despite it being so seemingly compact on the outside.

2. Nissan Qashqai
Nissan’s most popular urban crossover, the Qashqai, received an upgrade at the start of 2018, and we’ve gotten to know it pretty well after testing it at the launch, as well as back at home in the busy city of Cape Town. Mom’s who spend most of their time in congested cities should know that the new Qashqai is perfect for the urban jungle! The new Qashqai takes the exhaustion out of busy commutes, school-runs and rushes to the shops for last-minute lunchbox items. It’s also an SUV that at the end of a hard day of work, you can hop in and feel ready to hit the road again, comfortably, quickly and happily.

3. Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The Stelvio is Alfa Romeo’s first SUV made available to the buying public, and we really got to prove its worth after spending time with it both in the city as well as on a long road trip off the beaten track and through the mountains, with friends and their kids. One thing’s for sure, moms LOVE the look of the Stelvio.
Women love an SUV that looks as good as it feels to drive, and it’s not always easy to find one that offers both. The Stelvio pulls both of these desirables off and presents itself as a sporty yet sophisticated SUV that is identifiably Alfa Romeo, despite it being Alfa’s first SUV. Its Italian flair is strong both outside and inside, and seeing it in its best-suited environment while on driving through the Ouberg Pass had me stopping every ten minutes for some photos to capture its looks.

4. Range Rover Velar
The Range Rover Velar was one of Jaguar Land Rover’s most anticipated model launches in 2017, and when we first laid eyes on it at an exclusive reveal, we loved how strikingly modern its exterior design it. It’s compelling exterior is almost futuristic, with cleverly executed details all around, such as integrated and deployable flush door handles, sleek lower body features and ultra slim LED head and tail lamps, to name a few. This is one seriously hot SUV, and moms will enjoy its lush interior just as much as its stylish exterior.

Honda CR-V
If Range Rovers and Alfa Romeos are a tad too pricey for you, consider the Honda CR-V as a more affordable option. That doesn’t mean that it’s not still incredibly stylish. The latest Honda CR-V is a completely redesigned and reengineered model. Based on a new platform shared with the Honda Civic, it is more spacious than ever, while its cargo compartment has been extended. Tha CR-V’s interior is modern and fresh and includes a centrally located 5-inch (or 7-inch depending on the model) display.
