Audi announces partnership with Marie Claire Power Summit
Audi South Africa is proud to announce their partnership with the Marie Claire Power Summit 2018. The Power Summit will take place on Wednesday, 18 July at The Lyric at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg. This one-day power conference, featuring keynote speakers and interactive panel discussions on the issues that matter to South African women right now, will provide guests with exciting networking and education opportunities.
This collaboration with one of South Africa’s leading female magazines, will give attendees of the Marie Claire Power Summit insight into what it takes to be a leader; hear from today’s most prominent trailblazers, innovators, activists and change-makers; hone their plans to take action in their own communities; and make lasting connections with likeminded leaders and cultural icons from South Africa and abroad.
Speakers and participants will include Nomzamo Mbatha (Audi brand ambassador and actress), Redi Tlhabi (author and media personality), Terry Pheto (actress), Panashe Chigumadzi (novelist), Lindiwe Mazibuko (politician), Uche Pézard (CEO of Luxe Corp and Founder of Luxury Connect Africa), Aisha Pandor (co-founder of SweepSouth) and many others.
The Marie Claire Power Summit 2018 will focus on critical issues such as gender equality, career, business and activism, and aims to leave participants feeling inspired and empowered. The event is also aligned with the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s Centenary programme which marks 100 years this year since Madiba’s birth. Audi has also been a key partner to the Nelson Mandela Foundation for many years. This partnership with Marie Claire and the Nelson Mandela Foundation is a first of its kind and as such affords Audi the opportunity to bring its Vorsprung brand values to life.
“The Marie Claire Power Summit resonates strongly with the values which Audi stands for,” says Asif Hoosen, Head of Product and Marketing at Audi South Africa. “We are a South African brand at heart and committed to driving progress, so this partnership is an excellent opportunity to assist all of us as South Africans in realising our own personal advancement and that of our communities.”
The Marie Claire Power Summit 2018, progressed by Audi, intends to inspire participants to forge ahead in their personal and social capacities and to celebrate important topics in our country – diversity, gender equality and empowerment. For the same reason, Audi is also progressing Marie Claire’s ‘Future Shapers’ edition, which appears in the magazine’s June and July issue that is currently on shelves. The Marie Claire Future Shapers edition features several phenomenal South African women whose work is disrupting the local status quo for a brighter and better future in our country.
“We feel that by empowering fellow South Africans to make full use of their talents, vision, and personal freedom is one of the best ways to meaningfully celebrate our value and the contribution that we can all make to our society,” adds Hoosen.
Marie Claire Brand Director, Emilie Gambade notes that the Power Summit and the Future Shaper edition ultimately pay tribute to the collective power of women. The event “highlights the worldwide shift in the way women are campaigning for change,” she says. “We want the Power Summit to be the source of inspiration and support that connects and empowers women across our continent.”
