Christmas cabin for Discovery Sport SUV
Owing to the fact that we live in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s unlikely that we will ever get to see a ‘White Christmas’. Judging by today’s weather we have a greater chance of heavy rains, and that’s good enough reason to use the new Christmas cabin in the Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV.
The ‘wilderness cabin’ fits perfectly into the back of the SUV, which can be used for that much needed holiday getaway.
The cabin measures 3.5m2 and has enough room for two adults -after engineers used up the space of the Discovery Sport’s 1, 698-litre rear load space to carry the wooden cabin’s components.

“We wanted to create a Christmas cabin for Santa, in a truly Land Rover way. The spacious and versatile Discovery Sport was perfect for this project.
“The seats can be folded flat at the push of a button from the load space, which is wide and square and there are plenty of hidden storage spaces like the area under the front cup-holders,” said Helen Ali, Vehicle Package Team Leader.
Kenton Cool, 12-times Mount Everest climber tested the cabin in cold conditions, where all Land Rovers are subjected to sub-freezing temperatures.
“There is a growing trend for off-grid living and ‘wilderness cabins’ and only Land Rover could create a ‘go anywhere’ cabin like this. The design is cleverly engineered and incredibly robust, making it perfect for remote locations across the world,” said Cool.
The cabin features an optional tailgate seat on the deck and solar charger on the roof, appliances can be connected to the Discovery Sport.
