So, stay safe and healthy by keeping these tips in mind when cleaning your ride:

– Wash your car at home rather than taking it to a public car wash. This limits the number of people who touch your car.

– Regularly sanitise frequently-touched surfaces with a high-alcohol sanitising spray (at least 70% alcohol). These areas include the steering wheel, gear shifter, hand break, radio, door handles, mirrors, seat belts and latches.

– When getting out of the car after each ride, wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible.

– If you let passengers in your cars that are not part of your household request that they sanitise their hands and wear masks.

– When filling up at petrol stations, try to pay cashless via a mobile app or tap your card. Sanitise your hands if you have handled anything at the station like the air pump or credit card machine.

– Do not use bleach, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, acetone, or chlorine as these products can damage the interior of your car.

– Always keep a bottle of sanitiser in a cool place in your car, as it has a high alcohol content.
