SA Motoring Experience to feature latest Jaguar and Land Rover models
Pretoria, 28 August 2017 – Jaguar Land Rover will be out in full force at the 2017 South African Motoring Experience, which takes place at Kyalami from 1 – 3 September 2017. The two, iconic British brands will have their best and latest models on hand for South African consumers to not just admire up close, but also experience first-hand.
The Jaguar and Land Rover models at South African Motoring Experience will span the gamut of performance, luxury and capability. The on-track driving experience starts with the new 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE range. Jaguar’s newest F-TYPEs boast a choice of powerful engines, from the F-TYPE 400 Sport with its 3.0-litre supercharged V6 producing 294kW and 460Nm, to the F-TYPE SVR and its snarling 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 423kW and 700Nm on tap.
Other new features in the 2018 F-TYPE models include lightweight, slimline sport seats that are up to 8kg lighter than their predecessors; full LED headlights; Jaguar’s advanced InControl Touch Pro infotainment system; and GoPro ReRun. This technology allows drivers to control their GoPro action cameras using the car’s touchscreen, as well as add video overlays showing acceleration, braking and cornering forces.
Joining the F-TYPEs on track is Jaguar’s full line-up of performance models, including the Jaguar F-PACE performance SUV, as well as the XJ, XF and XE sports sedans.
The ultimate in luxury and breadth of capability will be represented by the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic. With Land Rover’s most powerful engine – a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 405kW and 680Nm – this luxurious Range Rover, built by Special Vehicle Operations, can reach 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds. Hinting at its performance is a more dynamic external appearance, including an 8mm lower ride height, large Brembo brakes, and chrome quad tailpipes.
Inside, the SVAutobiography treatment includes diamond quilted leather available in four exclusive colourways, an Ebony perforated leather headliner, fascia and door casings in Grand Black veneer, and knurled aluminium finishes on the dials and pedals.
Joining the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic on track will be the mighty Range Rover Sport SVR, as well as the Range Rover Evoque in HSE Dynamic trim.
At the off-road track, consumers will also be able to experience the extreme talents of the All-New Land Rover Discovery, as well as Discovery Sport, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. This thrilling driving experience includes steep ascents and declines, as well as water crossings and challenging terrain that will showcase Land Rover’s unparalleled off-road capabilities. A team of Land Rover Experience instructors will be on hand to take consumers through all obstacles and leave them breathless.
Jaguar fans will also be able to sample F-TYPE’s balanced performance at the ice road driving experience. This unique, low-friction surface will let drivers taste the dynamics of Jaguar’s award-winning sports car in a safe environment that rewards finesse and car control.
To ensure all car fans have an opportunity to experience the Art of Performance, Jaguar has also partnered up with show organisers of the South African Motoring Experience to provide vehicles for the special pit. Here, special needs children, families, and select VIPs will be able to get hot lap experience like no other, in a choice of Jaguar F-TYPEs or a Jaguar XJ Autobiography.
The South African Motoring Experience kicks off at Kyalami on Friday, 1 September, at 10am, and runs until 6pm on Sunday, 3 September.
