The new Nissan X-Trail – for growing, modern families
The modern family is evolving at a rapid pace, but there aren’t many vehicles that have adapted as much as families have over time. Luckily, Nissan has kept up with the evolution of families and their needs, and the new X-Trail is a perfect fit for any family.
Nissan pioneered the crossover segment and the new X-Trail is a perfect example of the company’s approach to developing crossover vehicles with exceptional qualities that give you the space to broaden your horizons with the peace of mind that comes with knowing there is an array of innovative Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) features to keep you and your family safe.
The X-Trail is also “pawfect” for furry family members as Nissan has a range of accessories for your pets, which includes a ramp for easy access to the rear of the vehicle.
Breath-taking new design
To design their zero-gravity-inspired seats with spinal support, Nissan’s engineers looked up to the cosmos and recreated the relaxed posture of astronauts floating in space.
The articulated front seat supports you from the pelvis to the chest, optimising blood flow and the seat cushions provide improved pressure distribution. The result is exceptional comfort and less fatigue on long-distance road trips.
The X-Trail’s premium interior is a cut above the rest. The Nissan Connect centre console has an upgraded interface; there is a new gloss black trim with metallic accents; the sporty D-shaped steering wheel is encased in leather; there are double-stitched leather seats; and there is an optional panoramic sunroof.
On the outside, the X-Trail’s dynamic styling is echoed throughout this always-ready-for-adventure SUV. There are beautiful new 17- and 19-inch alloys to choose from together with new exterior colours. There’s a new “V-Motion” grille and bumper, revised headlights and signature day-time running lights.
The front also features integrated fog lamps while the rear has LED boomerang taillights and the rear bumper has been harmonised with the stunning new face of the X-Trail.
Family + X-Trail = Adventure
The new Nissan X-Trail doesn’t compromise on what you expect from this much-loved SUV: Cutting edge technology, modern design, superb safety, phenomenal 4×4 capabilities, premium features and space for the whole family.
Thanks to the X-Trail’s flexible seating system, the second row is as plush as can be. The 60/40 split seat slides forward for easy access and adjusts to provide more cargo space as well as more legroom. The seats also recline. The third row provides additional versatility and folds down completely to make a flat cargo floor.
Nissan Approved Accessories are designed to make your family adventures bigger and more enjoyable, enabling you to take all the essential gear for a memorable getaway. These accessories include weather shields, a towbar, hard wearing rubber floor mats, a bonnet protector, headlamp protectors, boot storage bags and more.
Being a consummate crossover, the X-Trail has intuitive 4×4 drive capabilities which make it ultra-responsive and adaptable in all conditions.
Next-level technology
More than anything else, keeping your family safe is Nissan’s foremost priority and there is a range of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features designed to do exactly that. They include:
Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention – alerts the driver to the presence of vehicles in blind spots diagonally behind the car.
Intelligent Lane Intervention – alerts the driver when it detects that the X-Trail is straying from its lane.
Intelligent Cross Traffic Alert – when backing out of a parking space, this feature can detect and warn the driver of vehicles that are approaching behind the X-Trail.
Intelligent Emergency Braking – uses radar technology to keep an eye on your speed and proximity to the vehicle in front of you, and will alert the driver before engaging the brakes.
Intelligent Forward Collision Warning – helps alert drivers of an impending collision with a slower moving or stationary car.
Intelligent Auto Headlights – automatically changes between high and low beams when it detects oncoming vehicles at night.
Intelligent Around View Monitor – with moving object detection – a support technology that assists drivers to park more easily by providing a better understanding of the vehicle’s surroundings.
The new Nissan X-Trail comes with Nissan’s class-leading 6-year/150,000km warranty, a 3-year/90,000km service plan and 24-hour roadside assist. Prices range from R371,500 for the 2.0 Visia to R479,900 for the 2.5 Tekna CVT 4WD 7-seater.
