Do things differently with the Toyota C-HR
When the Toyota C-HR launched earlier this year, it was targeted to customers who needed a car that is powerful as well as attractive. If you’ve seen one on the road, you’ve probably noticed its striking and lively appearance – which is exactly what trendsetters are after.
Do things differently
There are loads of SUVs on the road, so much so that it’s not always easy to differentiate one from the other at a distance. One thing is for sure, the Toyota C-HR certainly stands out in the crowd – and for all the right reasons.
‘Image-driven’, ‘tech-savvy’, ‘modern’ and ‘trendy’ – these are the adjectives Toyota uses to describe the perfect Toyota C-HR customer.
The Toyota C-HR stays true to the features of the concept cars that attracted so much public attention in Paris in 2014 and in Frankfurt in 2015. It maintains that futuristic sort of look while keeping in line with the practical demands of its fans.
A diamond-shaped motif features throughout the Toyota C-HR’s exterior, while its coupé-like styling is further enhanced by disguised rear door handles integrated within the C pillar as well as a sweeping roofline. Prominent rear light clusters give the Toyota C-HR an expressive visual signature. The SUV measures at 4 360mm long and is supported by 17″ alloy wheels, which are featured in all models. Plus models feature blade-style alloy versions.
Dynamic image, dynamic drive
The C-HR is Toyota’s first local model to utilise Toyota’s advanced new 1,2l turbo engine. Two transmissions are available: a 6-speed Manual with Toyota’s IMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) system, or a buttery smooth CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) option.
We drove the Toyota C-HR’s CVT gearbox earlier this year, and were truly impressed by its performance. Despite being an SUV, it’s punchy and zippy to drive, especially in urban areas.
Out on the open road, the Toyota C-HR is dynamic and comfortable. The 1.2l turbo delivers 85kW and a constant torque curve of
185 N.m between 1 500 and 4 000 rpm, and sprints from 0 – 100km in 10.9 seconds.
If you’re fashion-forward and want to stand out on the road, the Toyota C-HR is a head-turner, and its tech-savvy equipment and comfortable interior will keep you feeling stylish behind the wheel.
