We Drive: The Peugeot 3008 GT Line+
Last year we attended the launch for Peugeot’s new 3008 SUV and its introduction to the market came with a number of accolades, such as its European Car of the Year title.
While there are five trim levels available, this week we’ve had the chance to experience the range-topping GT Line+ and there’s a lot that we can’t seem to get enough of in this exciting model.
Check out our favourite features at the end of this write up.
Driving the Peugeot 3008 GT Line+
The Peugeot 3008 GT Line+ comes with a 1,6-litre turbo-charged petrol engine that offers up to 121 kW of power. If that’s not enough power for you, this model comes with a ‘Sports Mode‘ to liven things up – it’s particularly satisfying to activate when driving up extended hills and past slow moving vehicles.
Its engine is mated to a responsive six-speed automatic gearbox, but drivers can manually control gear selection with the steering-wheel mounted paddle shifts. Driving in the Peugeot 3008 GT Line is most enjoyed on the open road where a real sense of comfort and silky smooth ride quality excels. It’s cabin is also super quiet thanks to reduced road and engine noise, which is great when you’re relaxing with the driver massage function and selection of air fragrances from it’s iCockpit system, (more on this below in our favourite features).

High ground clearance and 19-inch wheels provide you with a great all-round view of your surroundings.
In terms of economy, the GT Line+ has a claimed fuel consumption of 7,9-litres/100 km, but we averaged around 8,2-litres with our heavy feet during our test drive up the West Coast.
WOW’s favourite features
A spa treatment from the driver’s seat
As women, how can we NOT love this feature? (That’s not to say that men won’t enjoy it too, but we’re definitely not ashamed to admit it!) The Peugeot 3008 GT Line+ makes sure that you stay as comfortable and relaxed as you did the moment you hopped in, with its multi-point massage system embedded in the seats. It offers up to five different massage options with selective intensity – our favourite is the ‘lumber’ massage option.
If that doesn’t keep you at peace on the road, there is also a selection of fragrances to choose from, to keep things smelling luxurious!
Quilted leather seats
The GT Line+ is fitted with quilted-style leather seats in the front and rear, bringing that French flair into the cabin. Even with the massage function deactivated, the seats are supportive, cosy and a real pleasure on long roads and in delayed drives home in traffic.
Sporty steering wheel
Although it has been criticized for being too small, the steering-wheel is light, responsive and incredibly soft to the touch. We rather enjoy its size, which gives it a go-kart like experience and a sporty touch with a flat top and bottom.
Navigation as standard
Whereas most of its rivals offer the navigation system as an optional extra, it comes as standard in the GT Line. You’ll never get lost in the Peugeot 3008, even if your geography is a terrible as mine.
Standard features in the GT Line+
Front Collision Warning
Active Blind Spot Detection
Nappa Mistral Leather
Panoramic Sunroof
Handsfree Boot Opener
