What if There Was a Car Designed Just for You?
‘Equal Vehicles for All’ Initiative
With more than 40 years of research, Volvo Cars South Africa released the E.V.A (Equal Vehicles for All) initiative, and it revealed stats that women are more likely to suffer chest injuries and whiplash more than men in car crashes due to differences in anatomy, and chest, neck and body strength.
The shorter a person is, the lower in the car and closer to the steering wheel they sit, which makes the inflatable curtain that covers the full window a vital safety feature.
Based on those studies and its own crash data, Volvo created virtual crash-test dummies, including female dummies, to develop safety technologies that protect both men and women.
Now when you book your test drive or consider purchasing the new Volvo XC40, you’re showing interest in a brand that is invested in women.
Ready to Fall In Love With the New Volvo XC40 Range?
The new Volvo XC40 incorporates technology that specifically considers women in the design process.
‘Over the years, we have combined safety knowledge from the E.V.A initiative, which led to our unique safety innovations such as SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) and WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System), now standard in all the newer Volvo models,’ says Charmagne Mavudzi, Volvo Cars South Africa’s head of marketing and communications.
The new XC40 range offers a choice between sporty, urban or contemporary Swedish luxury design.
XC40 R-design
The sporty XC40 R-Design is inspired by performance, and the car boasts a perforated leather steering wheel; 18″ 5-double-spoke, matte-black, diamond-cut alloy wheels; rear-view-mirror covers; and a high-performance sound.
XC40 Momentum
XC40 Momentum offers a strong, contemporary style with a confident urban look, available in contrasting combinations with 18″ 5-spoke silver alloy wheels, LED headlights mid without cornering, 12,3-inch driver display and urban grid decor inlays.
XC40 Inscription
XC40 Inscription embodies Swedish luxury – for stylish urban living and driving, with 18″ 6-spoke black diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED headlights mid without cornering, 12,3-inch driver display and driftwood decor inlays.
