10 year old girl saves up to buy a Beetle…and then it was stolen
A 10 year old girl from the USA, Lisa Tucker, really wanted a 1967 Beetle that she saw on an ad. As her family runs an auto salvage yard, she is really into cars, and wanted to own one herself.
So, unlike what most ten year old kids would do, Lisa decided to save up all her money and buy the Beetle. She took on odd jobs to collect the $2000 (R21 000). She scavenged scrap metal and sold it, applied all birthday, Christmas, and any other funds she had to her goal.
Once she finally got the Beetle, she named it “Lucy”, and was absolutely in love with the car, spending lots of time with it, just to find it stolen a while after. So many people were touched with this story however, that they decided they just have to get the little Beetle back- and that is precisely what happened.
Lisa was taken to the location of her recovered car by her parents under the pretense of going out to eat. Lisa soon realised this wasn’t the case, and was delighted when she saw her prized car.
