Arrested driver claims he didn’t use the k-word
Last night a video of a man who was arrested for allegedly calling a police officer the k-word was posted on social media and erupted after it reached more than 16 000 views and over 1 000 shares on Facebook.
News24 reported that the video was recorded by passerby, Francois Nel, and that it shows an unknown white man being pulled from his car by officials.
It is believed that the man had assaulted an officer from the Johanessburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), although the video shows the man denying the allegation before resisting arrest.
According to News24, Nel said that he’d stopped at the scene after noticing about 20 people surrounding the man’s car and that the man then asked him for help, saying that the police officer had slapped him in the face.
In addition to that the video also shows a firearm being confiscated from the unknown man, although he denies ever taking out his firearm.
Spokesperson for the JMPD, Wayne Minnaar, said that the man had initially been stopped for reckless driving.
It was also reported that the man had allegedly stabbed the superintendent in the neck with his car key which led to his arrest and confiscation of the firearm.
