Avoid travelling in South Africa on these days and times

The festive season is quickly approaching, meaning more South Africans will hit the road and travel to visit family in other provinces, or to have a break from their normal life.

Data by Bakwena Platinum, which operates the N1N4 toll route between Tshwane and Bela-Bela (N1) and Tshwane and the Botswana Border (N4), reveals that there are a few key days and times where roads will be the busiest this festive season.

By analysing the volume of traffic on their highways and considering previous years, Bakwena has highlighted five days of peak traffic in South Africa this December. These are:

– Friday, December 11

– Tuesday, December 15

– Friday, December 18

– Thursday, December 24

– Thursday, December 31

On these days, peak hours for traffic are from 12pm to 9pm. If possible, Bakwena advises people to try to travel outside of the peak traffic times.
