Can you imagine a car with no steering wheel? Well, Google built one
With technology becoming more advanced by the day and Google always being at the frontier, it has now assembled a car without a steering wheel.
Okay, so the car isn’t really that much of a looker, but the beauty lies in the practicality. While this is not the first car to be able to drive itself, it is the first one to be actually made to drive itself rather than being retrofitted with the automation technology. How did they do this? We don’t know, but we do know it’s pretty great. I mean, think of all the pro’s this car has to offer… You can actually now do your make-up on your way to work, text and drive or do that last minute assignment on you way to uni/work.
The question is, is it a safer option than normal cars? I guess we still have to find out. Google will begin testing over the summer in the US with just 100 cars. The test models will be fitted with manual controls in case of glitches, but once the car starts to become more mainstream these will be removed and leave us with our very own, fully automated vehicles over which we will have little control. This sounds quite nerve-wrecking!
