Citroën to be discontinued in SA
The major French automobile manufacturer has this week announced they will no longer be selling their vehicles in South Africa.
Peugeot Citroën South Africa (PCSA) made this decision due to a decline in sales figures after only selling 789 vehicles in 2015 and less this year.
PCSA will instead shift their focus, to the Peugeot brand next year. With a re-launch of the brand and introducing three new products (two are SUV’s). The new 2008 SUV will be coming in March, the new 3008 SUV in May and the nine-seater Traveller will be introduced in September – with a new model launch to be released every year from 2018.

“The entire plan is in line with the Push To Pass plan/strategy of the PSA Group,” said Managing Director Francis Harnie.
“We will focus all our resources on retailing the Peugeot Brand which will assist in higher brand awareness, brand image, and increased competitiveness.”
Those who already own Citroën and DS vehicles can rest assured as their warranties and service plans will still stand, and full aftersales and parts delivery services will be available.
“With a car park of around 15 000 Citroën and DS vehicles in South Africa, these customers are important to us and we will not let them down,” said Harnie.
