Monaco F1 Grand Prix to take place this year after being cancelled in 2020

F1 Grand Prix kicks off on Thursday

Formula One’s Monaco Grand Prix will take place this season after it was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The race is scheduled to take place on May 23.

“Despite the latest rumours circulating on certain websites and social media, the @ACM_Media can confirm that the #MonacoGP will take place from May 20 to 23 2021,” the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) said on Twitter.

The Historic Grand Prix, which will be for classic F1 cars, will take place on April 23 – 25, and the all-electric Formula E race will take place on May 8. The opening round of the world rally championship, the Monte Carlo Rally, begins on Thursday, January 21 and ends on Sunday, June 24.

The 2020 season was postponed and then reduced to 17 races, and street races in cities such as Monaco, Azerbaijan and Singapore were cancelled.

The Australian race, which usually opens the season in Melbourne in March, has been postponed to November, while China’s Shanghai Grand Prix remains uncertain.
