Ford Fiesta ranks number 1 in Europe
In the first quarter of 2014, Ford Fiesta had already sold 85 639 cars. And the Fiesta just keeps on getting stronger as car sales have risen by 10% in the first 3 months of this year.
“Many customers choose high specification models equipped with the latest technology, including our in-car connectivity system Ford SYNC and award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe.
Of all Fiesta models sold so far this year in Europe 80% were equipped with Ford SYNC voice-control connectivity system, 47% were high specification Titanium models, 29% were equipped with 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engines, the two-time International Engine of the Year
Worldwide sales for Fiesta totaled 735 299 units in 2013, earning it the top spot as the best selling sub compact car. Sales figures from the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa put Fiesta at the number two position in its class, and it places in the top 10 position for overall sales in the passenger car segment.
Local motorists are also embracing the EcoBoost engines. Year-to-date sales for Fiesta in South Africa show that 27.9% of all models sold featured an EcoBoost engine.
