Ford Go Further Africa release 8 new models!
Innovation and mobility are the main focus of Ford Go Further 2015 – aiming at delivering the next level in connectivity, mobility and customer experience.
Ford Go Further plans on establishing a wide range of community, healthcare and education projects throughout Africa. Expanding the footprint across Africa through vehicle assembly, dealers and service outlets.
The second annual Ford Go Further Africa event day took place in Sandton Convention Centre yesterday – featuring an action-packed programme revealing eight exciting new models for African markets. They also detailed their new assembly plant in Nigeria, highlighting its wide range of far-reaching corporate social investment initiatives.
“As much as we are a car company, Ford is also a people company. Our investment in the community across Africa – through various health, education and mobility projects is as fundamental to our business as producing vehicles, as this is key to unleashing the potential of the African continent.” Nemeth stated.
Ford expands on their multi-modal approach on urban motility, with innovations on show such as the new Mode:Pro eBike. A customizable electric bike experiment making its debut in Africa.
The eBike is designed for all types of commercial use and is aimed at reducing traffic, by allowing small businesses and couriers to deliver goods without creating additional traffic. There is also a smartwatch application experiment, aimed at making journeys safer and easier for business owners.
Experiments such as this will provide insight through the data analytics captured – allowing Ford to deliver advanced new products, providing solutions to mobility problems.
Ford is working with World Vision in Africa to build a learning community to create value-added opportunities including community health programs, medicine and vaccine delivery as well as economic empowerment of women.
Ford Motor Company today announced it will assemble its popular Ford Ranger pickup truck in Nigeria starting in the fourth quarter of 2015 as part of its expansion in Middle East and Africa. Nigeria will be the first African country outside of South Africa where Ford vehicles are produced.
Of the eight new models on display at the Ford Go Further 2015 -the clear winner is the all-new Ford Focus RS. Making its South African debut in 2016 this performance road car pioneers innovative Ford Performance.
