Guess how this guy won an amazing Volvo V40 T5 R-Design?
Marcel Siem became the first player to eagle on the 17th during the 2014 Nedbank Golf Challenge – thereby winning a brand-new Volvo V40 T5 R-Design.
The 17th on the Gary Player Golf course at Sun City is notoriously tricky and Siem’s eagle was one of only a handful recorded on the 17th in the history of this prestigious tournament. During the 12-year partnership between Volvo Car South Africa and the Nedbank Golf Challenge, only two players have managed to eagle on the 17th and win the Volvo up for grabs: Retief Goosen famously won a Volvo S80 in 2012 and now Marcel Siem has won a Volvo V40 T5 R-Design.
The Volvo V40 T5 R-Design is Volvo’s cutting-edge five-door luxury hatchback. In R-Design guise this beautiful Swede has unmistakeable road presence and plenty of sporty attitude. The Volvo V40 that was won in such spectacular fashion is on display at the 17th hole on the Gary Player golf course on a raft in the water.
As is tradition, Volvo Car South Africa has put another Volvo V40 up for grabs on the 17th.
An integral part of the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge is the tradition for Volvo to sponsor one or more vehicles that can be won out on the course and this year there are no less than four Volvos waiting to be won by the best (or luckiest) competitors in the field. So look out for the vehicles displayed at the following holes:
9th – First Albatross wins a Volvo S60 T5
16th – First hole-in-one wins a Volvo XC60 T5
17th– First Eagle wins a Volvo V40 T5 R-Design – Volvo has put another Volvo V40 up for grabs after Marcel Siem’s Eagle.
18th– First Albatross wins a Volvo S60 T5 R-Design
