How much you can expect to pay for the new Kia Picanto X-Line crossover SUV

New Kia Picanto X-Line crossover SUV - SA pricing

The new Kia Picanto X-Line is a variant crossed between a compact hatchback and crossover SUV that is affordable, economical and boasts a bold, unique style of its own.

IOL says the vehicle is much like a Renault Sandero Stepway and the recently discontinued Toyota Etios Cross.

The X-Line was launched in South Africa on Wednesday (10 February) and currently takes the top spot for the local Picanto line-up. The 5-speed manual gearbox version is priced at R237 995 and a 4-speed automatic gearbox is priced at R251 995. The only available engine option is a 1.2-litre engine, which boasts 61kW with a torque of 122Nm.

The Picanto X-Line is not the only crossover Kia plans to launch in 2021, with the much larger Sonet compact SUV is set to slot between the X-Line and Seltos.

The new variant is available in bold colours, including Honey Bee yellow, Alice Blue and Pop of Orange, Black and Red.

The exterior of the X-Line has a rugged-looking front bumper design, featuring a silver skidplate, as well as black wheel arches with 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

On the inside, the model has leather upholstery, aluminium pedal caps and a high gloss central fascia. The X-Line comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual air conditioning, sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, electric windows and rear park distance control.

It’s backed up by a 5-year/unlimited km warranty and 2-year/30 000km service plan.
