Hyundai sets record for longest distance travelled on one tank
This car is now the most fuel efficient hydrogen car you will find. The ”Fuel Cell” Hyundai ix35 has driven a record distance of 700 kilometres, through three countries, for a hydrogen-powered production car on a single tank.
The Hyundai ix35, which claimed to be the world’s first mass-production fuel-cell electric vehicle , was driven from Norway to Denmark through Sweden. The journey took 10 hours at an average speed of 76km/h and included city and highway driving.
“Hyundai is the first automaker to mass-produce fuel-cell vehicles and we continue to promote the growth of Europe’s hydrogen refuelling network”, said a Hyundai spokesperson.
He stated, “To achieve this distance on just one tank of hydrogen shows the potential of this technology and the ability of the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell – I believe this is a world record.”
