Jeep sales make it the fastest growing car brand in Europe!
Jeep has found a way of mixing its rich history, with what people want! Jeep sales have grown rapidly in Europe, as a result of models like the Cherokee!
The Jeep name doesn’t carry the same weight in Europe as it does in the United States of America and that’s perfectly understandable. With models that were viewed as either outdated or irrelevant for the European market, Jeep sales struggled in the increasingly crowded segment.
However, Jeep sales have been growing rapidly in recent years thanks to models like the Renegade and the controversial, but well received – Jeep Cherokee.
It seems that these models were all the American, (now also Italian) brand needed, as Jeep sales took off spectacularly! The European market still has to play catch up with what’s happening in the US, but overall Jeep will be very happy with how things have turned out for them.
In 2015, the Europeans registered as many as 88 200 Jeep vehicles -an increase of 113% compared to the previous year. This translates to an increase in revenue of around 132%. This increase in Jeep sales was enough to give them the title of fastest growing car brand in the European market during 2015.
To put these figures into perspective of previous years – in the UK alone, Jeep sales totalled more in 2015, than in the previous four years combined! (2011 through to 2014.) Jeep sales in France also managed to break records, concluding the 2015 year with an increase of 208.5% compared to the previous year. A similar trend was observed through all the other major European countries.
The main driving factor, (excuse the pun) behind the rejuvenation of the Jeep brand in Europe, was the exceptional Jeep Renegade! The compact SUV accounted for 49.8% of total Jeep sales in the EMEA region, (Europe, Middle East and Africa). With 54 800 units finding new owners during the 2015 year. This was followed by the new and improved – Grand Cherokee. Selling 28 159 units, which translates to around 24% of total Jeep sales.
