Lamborghini’s new Huracán STO features three driving modes

Lamborghini has revealed the new Huracán STO, a perfect combination between race car and road car. It features three driving modes: STO, Trofeo and Pioggia.

STO mode is the default for road driving. Trofeo mode is optimised for dry tar and the fastest lap times on track. Pioggia kicks the safety up a notch for wet conditions.

“A super-sports car created with a singular purpose, the Huracán STO delivers all the feel and technology of a genuine race car in a road-legal model”, Lamborghini boasts.

“The extensive technical solutions and intelligence gained from both our Super Trofeo and GT3 programs has been refined and embodied in the Huracán STO, allowing the pilot to experience the emotions of a racing driver, daily, in a road-legal Lamborghini super sports car able to take lap records,” Lamborghini’s technical chief Maurizio Reggiani said.

The Huracán STO uses carbon-fibre in more than 75% of its exterior panels as a way of drastically reducing its weight, plus a lighter windscreen and magnesium wheels.

In fact, this model is so focused on being aerodynamic and light, it amounts to a dry weight of 1 339 kg, making it 43 kg lighter than the already lightweight Performante.

The car is expected to land in South Africa mid-2021.
