Land Rover celebrates 25 years of Discovery with the XXV
For a quarter century the Disco – as it is affectionately known – has represented epic adventure: the ability to go virtually anywhere with confidence and composure. There is hardly a spot on the planet which hasn’t been touched by it. More than a million ”Discoveries” have been built, and the nameplate has contributed almost 220 awards to Land Rover’s trophy cabinet – a third of those going the way of the current model.
Originally launched in September 1989 and now in its fourth distinct generation, it continues to enable those with a spirit of adventure to embrace life’s challenges. Celebrating all this is the XXV, a limited edition model which showcases Discovery’s unrivalled combination of refinement, versatility and capability backed up by innovative technology.
The XXV is now available from Land Rover dealers nationwide. Buyers of the Land Rover XXV enjoy all the benefits of a 2014 upgrade which include a front-end refresh and enhanced mechanical efficiency. It embraces all the standard features of the 3.0 SDV6 SE with the 183 kW turbodiesel engine, and then adds a palette of stand-out features.
The Land Rover Discovery XXV is priced at R946 900 excluding CO2 tax of R11 286. Just 90 will make their way to South Africa.
