All-new Land Rover Discovery comes to Absa Cape Epic!
The All-New Land Rover Discovery will make its first public appearance at the 2017 Absa Cape Epic. Spectators attending the Absa Cape Epic Prologue at Meerendal Wine Estate on 19 March will be first to get an exclusive look at the latest Discovery, ahead of its local launch in July this year. Attendees will have another chance to get up close and personal with the newest Land Rover at the Grand Finale on 26 March, at the award-winning Val de Vie estate.
The All-New Discovery is a full-sized, three-row, seven-seat SUV. It embodies the spirit of adventure through Land Rover’s drive to go Above and Beyond – characteristics shared by all of the competitors in this gruelling and unforgiving mountain bike race.
The All-New Discovery is up to 480kg lighter, with improved ground clearance (up 43mm) and a maximum water wading depth of 900mm (up 200mm) providing unrivalled confidence in waterlogged tracks as well as flooded roads.

Land Rover’s multi-mode Terrain Response 2 system also offers drivers instant access to drive modes that let the All-New Discovery tackle a variety of treacherous terrain.
The SUV provides a world first Intelligent Seat Fold technology that allows customers to reconfigure second- and third-row seats using dedicated controls, the vehicle’s touch screen or even remotely via a smartphone app. This allows all seats to fold flat and provide up to 2,500 litres of load capacity.
The refined cabin of the All-New Discovery is also available with heated and cooled seats for all three rows, massage seats for the driver and passenger, and numerous ingenious stowage spaces for items such as mobile phones, drinks containers and tablet computers.

Land Rover’s latest in-car technologies are also present, including the intuitive, 10-inch InControl Touch infotainment system, Meridian digital audio, 3G in-car WiFi and up to nine USB ports for powering modern smart devices.
Individuals with active lifestyles will also benefit from Land Rover’s Activity Key. By holding the waterproof and dustproof Activity Key up to the ‘D’ in the Discovery badge on the tailgate, the vehicle locks and disables the ordinary key, which can be left safely inside. This leaves the driver free to run, swim, ride or play without worrying about the security of their vehicle.
The All-New Land Rover Discovery will launch in South Africa in mid-July 2017, with prices starting at R980 000.
