Land Rover Evoques Cool Britannia
We’re unlikely to see Julius Malema driving the NW8 Range Rover Evoque. He has been known to drive a friend’s Range Rover but even though red dominates the NW1’s colour scheme, he probably wouldn’t go for the Union Jack graphics.
But he may look at the NW8 with it’s natty red-beret roof.
The SW1 comes in two editions: the Colour Special in Firenze Red with Fuji white roof and 20” alloy wheels, and red, white and blue Union Flag graphics on the roof, rear spoiler and the white door mirror housings. The cabin boasts Ebony leather upholstery, door inserts, arm rests and facia trim with contrasting red finish on the rotary shift controller and CommandShift™ paddles for the nine-speed automatic transmission. Headrests are finished with tags bearing the Union Flag colour graphic, and this is repeated on the carpet mats. As a finishing touch, the same motif, rendered in monochrome, is etched into the sill plates and vehicle key.
The SW1 Monochrome Special Edition Evoque is available in Corris Grey with a Santorini Black roof. The Union Jack motif is rendered throughout in a monochrome variation.
Both models are equipped with Land Rover’s 2.2-litre SD4 turbo diesel engine.
The NW8, with its Fuji White paintwork with a Firenze Red roof, rear flip spoiler and door mirror caps, will be available in June. The 20-inch alloys, headlights and foglamps, tail-lamps, wing vents and grille are black.
Just 50 of each, starting at R683 900 excluding CO2 taxes, will land in South African showrooms, with 40 destined for the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa.
