This may be the coolest hybrid ever!
There are 1000’s of kilometres of abandoned railway tracks that run over the landscape of Mexico and Ecuador. These tracks have been left untouched for decades due to privatisation of the national system suspended passenger service in 1995. Now two artists wanted to travel the paths of these tracks that have been left abandoned, so together they designed what just might be the ‘coolest hybrid of all time’.
The brothers covered as many of the routes as they could, visiting communities that were left isolated when the railway transit lines stopped running. However, this isn’t the first car of its kind. There are cars and trucks that act like trains that are commonly used for the maintenance of railways. We think this is a pretty awesome project. For a glimpse of what the artists experienced, check out the video.
