Mazda 3: 2019 Women’s World Car of the Year
The new Mazda 3 has been awarded the “Supreme Winner” of the 2019 Women’s World Car, and World Family Car of the Year awards.
First established in 2010, the Women’s World Car of Year is voted on by a panel of female judges from over 30 different countries, and local South African Charlene Clarke who are asked to vote according to a criteria women use when purchasing a car.
The all-new Mazda 3 has adopted a Kodo design aiming to embody the essence of Japanese aesthetics. Embodying the principle of a simple, single motion is what brings the design of the Mazda 3 to life.
Featuring more natural design lines and a powerful ambiance of vitality than previous Kodo models. The hatchback and sedan models have their own styling character; a hatchback is emotive while the sedan is elegant.
Based on the philosophy of designing the car, Mazda has enhanced the models driving attributes of accelerating, turning and braking feel natural and increased occupant safety.
The models are based on Mazda’s Skyactiv vehicle architecture. The Skyactiv-G engines in the 1.5-litre manual and automatic and the 2.0-litre automatic lineup promise responsive speed control in any driving situation of the Southern African market.
