The new Citroën C1 – Perfect for city driving
The new Citroën C1 is here and it’s ready for some major urban driving as it’s more practical and efficient than ever, tailored for the urban environment. The new Citroën offers unrivalled manoeuvrability and low operating costs – an upbeat solution to urban mobility requirements, in a thoroughly contemporary package.
There will be two C1 derivatives – C1 Feel and C1 Feel Airscape with retractable roof. Available initially as a highly-specced five-door Feel model, the C1 combines dynamic and lively design with a spacious interior and compact exterior dimensions.
The front boasts the key characteristics of Citroën’s latest models, with a new two-part headlamp and vertical LED daytime running lights. Geometric tail lights with a modern, three-dimensional effect are a highlight of the pert rump.
The C1 Airscape enables an ”al fresco” feeling at the touch of a button with a full-length, retractable fabric roof slides all the way back to the rear hatch so that you can let the sunshine in…and when necessary it can be closed in seconds.
The C1 can carry up to four adults comfortably and the interior combines a vibrant design with user-friendly features. Your ideal day-to-day partner, it boasts a range of convenience features and convenient storage compartments.
The 196 litre boot is easy to access, with the parcel shelf folding away when the tailgate is opened. A 50/50 split rear seat provides additional flexibility and with them folded, total luggage capacity increases to 780 litres.
South African customers can look forward to the new PureTech engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. This 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, 61kW petrol engine achieves fuel consumption of 4,3 litres/100 km on the combined cycle.
The Citroën is priced from R168 990, with a R1 999 per month launch offer. The R139 990 budget version with 1 litre engine will be available from 2015.
