New Toyota Agya on its way to South Africa

Toyota will launch the new Agya hatchback in South Africa. The car has long been on sale in other countries like Indonesia, but the manufacturer feels this small city car will be a perfect fit for South Africans.

It is based on the Daihatsu Ayla (also owned by Toyota) and is known as the Toyota Wigo in some countries.

This modern model comes with a choice between a naturally aspirated 1,0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine sending 49 kW to the front axle, or a more robust 65kW 1.2-litre four-cylinder.

Toyota Mauritius calls it an “innovative vehicle with a sporty, bold and unique look. This car can reflect your style wherever you go! We assure you fuel efficiency, powerful driving, safety, fun and many unforgettable moments!”

Final pricing has not been announced yet but Car Mag estimates it will range between R178 600 and R182 400. The automatic version could be in the area of R192 500 to R196 300.
