Nissan unveils new X-Trail concept aimed at dog owners
After Nissan surveyed more than 1,300 dog owners, research revealed that almost every dog owner considers their canine to be part of the family. Furthermore, a vast majority of respondents said they would buy a new car which boasts more dog-friendly features.
Nissan has now taken this into consideration and unveiled a new model – the X-Trail 4Dogs concept. Noting that this flagship crossover is the perfect car for family adventures, particularly ones involving those with four legs.

“It’s clear from the research that for dog owners, dogs are a key part of the family. Ensuring their pet’s needs are catered for is often just as important as making sure the children are comfortable and happy,” said Ryan Gains, Chief Marketing Managing of X-Trail.
“The Nissan X-Trail is a car that’s built for family adventures, and the X-Trail 4Dogs concept takes that to the next level,” he added.
The X-Trail 4Dogs is a dog-friendly crossover – with a boot that’s been transformed to provide bespoke travel space for up to two animals.

The crossover’s luggage compartment has been turned into a dog haven, 445 litres in size with innovative features. Features include a pull-out shower, dog dryer, a pull-out ramp, integrated drying system supplying warm air into boot space. A bed and no-spill water bowl and snack treat dispenser can be found as well as a clip-on harness hook to keep dogs safe.
Driver and passengers can keep an eye on pets with the dog-cam technology – integrated into the NissanConnect infotainment system and will also be able to talk to their dogs via an audio link.
