Pinetown crash survivor killed in another car crash
Last week Times Live reported that a woman, who survived last year’s horror Pinetown crash, was killed when she was hit by a car on October 23, 2014.
“It is said that the car lost control. The car hit her and the impact (caused) her to fly through the air and land motionless under a truck parked nearby. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to King Edward Hospital via ambulance, but sadly died on route,” Community organisation, Field’s Hill Helping Hands said.
The woman was severely injured in the previous crash that she had survived when a 40-ton 18-wheeler truck ploughed into four taxis and two cars on Fields Hill, Pinetown, killing 24 people.
Because of the Pinetown crash, she had been bed-bound for a prolonged period. Unfortunately due to the extent of Cecelia’s injuries and prolonged stay in hospital, she was unable to return to work and therefore became unemployed.
“She stood in front of us smiling and boasting about how far she had progressed from her injuries. She looked so well and was enthusiastic about getting her life back on track,” the organisation said.
“It is a sudden loss to the family and friends. It is a loss that does not make sense. Sometimes life can be so unfair when things happen to good people. The sudden death of our sister has left us as a family shaken and unsure. The police are still doing an investigation on the case,” her sister commented.
