Protest action causes major delays on N2
Several roads between the N2 and Bofors Circle have been affected by the service delivery protest in Langa, which erupted this morning (Tuesday 20 September 2016).
Motorists took to social media to warn other road users about the delays and further added that the protests had become violent.

Jakes Gerwel Drive Northbound was closed to traffic due to the protest action and the Safe N2 Project advised motorists to use alternative routes.
“People are protesting in the Langa area and as a result the Jakes Gerwel Drive between the N2 and Bofors Circle has been closed to traffic. Motorists are being diverted by officials on scene,” said traffic Service’s Maxine Jordaan.
EWN reported that several Metrorail lines were affected due to targeted rail infrastructure, resulting in major delays.
