Subaru welcomes WOW COTY judge Vuyi Mpofu as Brand Safety Ambassador
Subaru Southern Africa recently announced Vuyi Mpofu, editor of Driving in Heels and one of WOW’s very own COTY judges, as Brand Safety Ambassador.
Subaru claims to be the only vehicle manufacturer with a Top Safety Pick rating by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for the entire product range for six years running (2010 – 2015).
The partnership between Subaru and Vuyi will focus on placing Subaru as the leader in automotive safety in order to drive their brand statement of Confidence in Motion.

Vuyi’s work in the road safety space is commendable and partnering with her to empower drivers to be safer is a perfect fit for is,” says Ashley Lazarus, Marketing Manager of Subaru Southern Africa.
Subaru’s four pillars of safety: Primary Safety, Active Safety, Passive and Pre-Collision Safety will be the key features of increasing brand visibility. The brand hopes to achieve awareness through a number of initiatives such as hands-on technical and safety workshops and video content production.
In a press release, Vuyi stated that the partnership with Subaru will allow her to reach more people through her initiatives. “Subaru is well known for producing cars that deliver exceptional performance and reliability but they are most acclaimed for the impeccable safety standards. There is no other car that offers this level of attention to detail when it comes to safety and who better to partner with in broadcasting road safety awareness?” said Vuyi.
Subaru will also be introducing the latest feature in its Pre-Collision Safety pillar, Subaru EyeSight into South Africa in the third quarter of 2017. EyeSight has been in development since 1989 and has been designed to minimise or ideally to prevent collision damage by the use of stereo cameras, engine transmission and brakes in unison to slow the vehicle down or bring it to a complete stop.
