This is a really nice surprise for all MyCiti bus users
MyCiti commuters will be happy to hear that the City of Cape Town is conducting a pilot project, which will allow passengers to access free wifi while traveling or waiting at various MyCiTi stations across Cape Town, Cape Town Lately reported.
The city will first be launching a pilot project ahead of the planned launch to ensure people of the authenticity of Cape Town’s public transport service. This will also enable people to do work while traveling.
It is also reported that in addition to the plan of free wifi for the MyCiti Bus network, the City of Cape Town has announced plans to launch a wifi network that will offer limited free internet access in some of the city’s poorer suburbs. These include parts of Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain, and forms part of a strategy to connect those who are challenged by the cost of data from accessing the internet.
