The 2021 South African Car Of The Year list has been launched
SAGMJ (South African Guild of Motoring Journalists) would like to congratulate all manufacturers, whose vehicle/s made it in the 2020/2021 list below for The 2021 South African Car Of The Year Competition.
According to Quickpic, each car has or have been reviewed by the COTY Validation Committee and was considered to be voted as the semi-finalist/s for the competition.
The requirements were as follows, all vehicle had to be named and launched publicly prior to the cut-off date, had to be entirely new, any upgraded ranges launched with at least two engine options.

60 vehicles alone were launched between November 1 2019 and March 1 2021. The top 40 semi-finalists will be voted for by the Guild members from May 7 until May 11 2021 and the final announcement will be made on May 14 2021.
The Top 20 Finalists will be voted for by the Jury and trainee jury from 14 May until 18 May 2021 and announced on 21 May 2021. The Top Ten Category winners and overall winner would be voted for from 21 May until 12h00 on 24 May 2021. An intimate awards evening event with live streaming will take place on 5 June 2021.
“If we have omitted any of your launched vehicles that you feel should qualify or if you believe your vehicle is in the wrong category, please inform us by no later than 13h00 on 5 May 2021”, says the SAGMJ.
