This artist puts something unusual up on street poles for a great cause

In an effort to make people aware that sexism still exists in a campaign against rape, an artist from Germany has been sticking sanitary pads on street poles with blunt messages on them, tackling the societal issue.

The artist, Elonë Kastratia, started with this campaign on the 8th of March, which also marks International Women’s Day. In a matter of days, her #padsagainstsexism campaign started attracting attention not just in her town but online too, with her images viewed hundreds of thousands of times on Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter.
