This is Europe’s Car of the Year for 2015
Volkswagen’s new Passat is Europe’s Car of the Year 2015 voted by the 55 international members of the “Car of the Year” jury (sadly of which only one is a woman).
The Passat was announced Europe’s Car of the Year just before the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show.
The CEO of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn said, “We are extremely proud of this accolade. In the new Passat we have again succeeded in developing a car that sets the standards for its class in terms of technology and quality. The new Passat shows that the Volkswagen brand has the right answers to the challenges of our time.”
Volkswagen claims the design of the new Passat gives the car a more premium look and feel. There are also two other Volkswagen models that have taken the Europe Car of the Year award – the 2010 Polo and the 2013 Golf.
This Passat, the eight-generation by Volkswagen, will arrive in South Africa in the later part of the year.
