Using a blow-up doll is definitely one way of selling your car!
We think this is both funny and, well, rather original. And so did the potential buyers, as it stirred up quite a roar. Mr Angus Dean, borrowed the doll (named Sandy) from a friend, and posed her in a variety of positions in relation to his 1990 Volkswagen Golf. The car has an initial bid of 99p invited, or the option to ‘buy it now’ for £450.
As well as being pictured opening the car door and sitting in the driver’s seat, Sandy was also used to point out the areas of rust on the Mk2 1.8-litre model. Mr Dean said: ‘I thought it was a great idea and I’ve had people ringing up about it. The car needs a bit of work to get it back on the road, but it’s a future classic. Hopefully the doll will help sell it.’
Apparently he had asked models to pose for his car advert on Ebay, but none were interested, so now he rather uses a “mannequin”. He said, ‘Poseable mannequins are ready, and do what you need them to do. You don’t get the fuss you might get with models’.
