Volkswagen’s best-selling vehicles in December 2020

The Volkswagen Group in South Africa, including its Audi brand, sold just over 6000 vehicles in December 2020.

The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) no longer discloses the number of individual vehicle models that are sold but Car Magazine obtained access to Volkswagen SA’s figures.

The Polo Vivo was the best selling passenger car in South Africa yet again – it sold 2022 units in December, according to Car Magazine.

The Polo hatchback, another vehicle manufactured locally like the Vivo, followed in second place with 1569 units.

The T-Cross, Tiguan and Polo sedan were next in line, selling 823, 274 and 251 units respectively.

Further down the list the sales figures began to dwindle, the T-Roc managed 129 units, while the Golf 7, which is probably on the way out as the Golf 8 is on the way, sold 37 units.

The Tourareg (18) and Kombi (7) closed off the passenger-vehicle registrations for Volkswagen.

Audi’s top-seller for December was the Q2, which moved 145 units.
