Do you want SA’s ‘window washers’ off the road?
According to the Sandton Chronicle, the metro Police have pledged to ‘put a stop’ to the car window-washers at traffic lights.
This comes after a report that state that Crime Line leader and LeadSA ambassador, Yusuf Abramjee, is waging a war against the window washers and using his Twitter to bring the issue to attention.
He wrote to the Metro Police that he had personally been harassed and intimidated by these opportunistic window washers at road intersections. He added that one of his colleagues had one of her wipers broken at an intersection on Rivonia Road in Sandton.
“This problem requires your urgent intervention and action,” said Abramjee. “There are sufficient laws in place to deal with this problem, but we need implementation. More importantly, you need to please ensure they are removed on an ongoing basis.”
